A notable feature of the neighborhood is that since January 1st, 2016, homeowners have been permitted to travel by golf cart from their residences to the clubhouse, adding a unique and convenient aspect to the living experience there.

 

Community spirit is evident in Cottonwoods, as exemplified by the annual balloon rally hosted by the Homeowners Association (HOA) at the Hermosa Meadows field. This event has become a significant attraction, featuring 22 balloons, numerous local sponsors, and a variety of activities such as daily launches, tethered rides for children, a balloon glow on Saturday evening, and food trucks. This event not only offers entertainment but also fosters a sense of community, as residents can enjoy these festivities either from the comfort of their homes or by walking to the event​​.
